Therapeutic Day Treatment Program
The Therapeutic Day Treatment Program for children and adolescents is an intensive school- based treatment program utilizing psychotherapeutic interventions combined with education and mental health treatment offered in programs of two or more hours per day with groups of children/ adolescents.
Program Description
Family Redirection Institute (FRI) Therapeutic Day Treatment Program provides services to meet the needs of students with behavioral and emotional challenges. The program correlates with the school’s calendar/ schedule and operates Monday through Friday. The components of the program enable students to adjust more comfortable within the school setting/ community. The program serves both male and female students between the ages of 5-18. The program will reduce:
- the number of students being sent from their zone schools to alternative disciplinary programs or more restrictive environments
- both in-school and out-of-school suspensions
- the retention rate of students by improving academic performance
- student absenteeism
Each school site will (1) be manned by a supervisor and four qualified professionals with a bachelor degree or better (2) operate independently of the other (3) staff to student ratio will not exceed 1 to 5 to assure each student quality service and (4) offer the required Service Activities:
- Extensive face-to-face Diagnostic Assessment
- Individualized Treatment Plan
- Weekly Family Counseling
- Weekly Individualized Therapy Sessions
- Educational Support
- Anger management/Conflict Resolution
- Therapeutic social and recreational activities (2 therapeutic activities per day)
- Daily Group Therapeutic Sessions
- Case Management
- Medication Education Management
